The Pepperoni seasoning is great. I ruined the first batch by over smoking it; at least for my taste buds. The second batch I made the exact same way but did not introduce smoke. It turned out to be the best pepperoni I have ever tasted.
Just made sausage and the product is very good. No blow outs. Sausage came out perfect.
I love my new stainless steel gas burner. It is so well made. I feel like it accommodates my pots more securely. Plus, it's pretty to look at!
I add to all of the varieties is sausage I make. It adds much flavor.
This was my first time trying pretubed casings... I will never not use them again. I stuffed 32lbs of chicken sausage rings with 1 blow out that was self inflicted. They went on my half inch horn easily and I didn't have to fight to untangle and flush them. They were all consistent quality and super easy to work with. For the price difference a few times a year I do it, it is a no brainer. If I could say something bad, and this is really reaching, just be careful putting them on the horn as some sections were doubled over and wouldn't always unfold right when stuffing. It takes all of 5 seconds to fix this and happens when adding by hand too so it really isn't an issue. Definitely will buy again.
And for the record, after stuffing that 32lbs, I still have enough to do another 10-15lbs most likely. I use a 5lb stuffer and 1 length does a little more than a full load and there are 3 tubes left from the package. Worth every penny.
My 'go to' casings for most of my sausage needs. Easy to use.
i've meant to buy a sausage machine for years, and i'm glad I did. both pieces are sturdy and great quality. I'm more than satisfied. please keep me on your mailing list!
This pricker had flared ends after one use. I noticed it was getting more and more difficult to prick the many sausages I had made and when I looked at the points, they were all bent causing snags instead of clean exit wounds. Stay away from this one. Stainless steel should never be this flimsy.
Hi Tim, we're sorry to hear about your experience. We appreciate your feedback and will pass it along to improve our products. A replacement wiill be sent out today.
They do a good Job. I would recommend something bigger for the 124mm Bologna casings. I needed to use two to keep them from "slipping" They are a wresting match to get on and are a bit small. They work GREAT with 76 & 61 mm casings
This kit was advertised as 24 inch casings. They arrived as 12 inch casings. Phone rep was rude and unwilling to look into it. She did eventually look at the web page and agree it was not as advertised. She than checked with someone and issued a refund for the correct price for what was sent.
It's a cure. Not sure what else I can say about it. It works. It turns your meat to mush like all the rest and you need a stuffer instead of being able to run it threw your grinder. I usually season before grinding. I do a course grind, re mix the meat for even fat distribution than fine grind into the casings. Can't do that with anyone's mixes I've tried requiring cure.
It gets the job done. Works nicer with cure in the mix than my grinder.
I think it's "clunky" and rough. When turning the handle to "Press" the
meat out it just clunks and clanks with every turn. Cleans up nice. It would be nice if it came with stainless stuffing tubes instead of plastic.. Something BIG for summer sausage about 1 1/2" to 2" would be amazing !!
Started with a bad situation that thankfully got turned around.
